Current Real Time Telemetry Data

Even though the base is situated roughly 100 miles up the Columbia River from th coast, tidal influences still affect day to day activities and outings to and from the Sea Scout Base.

Some factors affecting the base you should be aware of when visiting, so you can dress accordingly, are weather, tides and hydrological flow of the river itself.

You should know the tides if joining a crew on a cruise or other coordinated outing. Below is NOAA weather data collected at the columbia River near the R. A. Rasmusen Sea Scout Base.

On average, any tide reference you find for Astoria, you can adjust for Vancouver by adding a time delay to the time of affect. For HIGH Tides, add +5:45 (hours:minutes) to the noted time for Astoria. For LOW Tides, add +7:38 (hours:minutes) to the noted time for Astoria.
